good talk

You only get a number for the lst 20 and I was only one in the class I was in to place in the State in any subject all 3 years I was there and American History was a required subject everybody had to take it, it wasn't something like 3rd year French which most people don't take. Then I took the nationally administered test for college credit and received a very high score and got 10 quarter hours in American History. Croye gave me a "B" for the year and he couldn't have done as well himself. I did particularly good considering that somebody who was supposed to help me was working against me. I didn't miss days or rebel against him. A year after I graduated it broke on the front page of the "Akron Beacon Journal" that Cyril Jones, the principal, had embezzled 60 thou from the school's Activity Fund, a lot of money in 1966. A few days later I read in the paper that Mr. Jones had died suddenly from a heart attack. I didn't have a thing against Mr. Jones I'm just saying what happened. The place had an aura of evil about it. I've often wished that Firestone High would get hold of me and ask me for a contribution for something it'd be a nice round figure.

good talk.

On the Internet I see where the Class of 1965 at Akron Firestone High lists about a third of the class whose whereabouts they don't know me amongst them, they're probably gearing up for a 50th Reunion in 2015 as this was the lst graduating class. My older brother, Bob, went to his 10th at Buchtel High and seemed to like it but even then there were only 15% which is l out of almost 7. I'm 64 probably a quarter of them are dead, what, a bunch of creaky old people 67 or 68 maybe some in wheelchairs (a lot of people in wheelchairs could rise out of them if they lost 200 pounds some of the others are too lazy to walk). At any rate that high school had an aura of evil about it, sometimes I'll enter a country, not often, and be overwhelmed by the evil, say Indonesia in 1998. Firestone was the best high school academically in Akron either public or private, it was maybe 30% Jewish and a lot of wealthy people sent their children there although most families were upper middle class like mine. In 10th grade for World History they had me in a class of low achievers they tried hard but they weren't very bright. On the State administered test I placed 7th in the school even though I hadn't studied 10 minutes. I thought that's pretty good, next year when I take American History I'll study and maybe I can place lst in the school. My American History teacher was a guy, 28, named Croye, Robert I think, and he liked to make humerous comments to the captive audience, he wasn't a good teacher. When the time came to take the test for placement in the school he wasn't going to let me take it as I didn't have a B in his class and I had to get the counselor's permission to take it. I placed lst in the school out of about 342 as that was the number in my graduating class. 6 weeks later the first 2 in each subject went down to Akron U. to take the test for placement in the State (the 2nd place guy who I beat by a lot went to Michigan and became an M.D. his father was this). I placed 16th in the State. Ohio then and now was the 7th largest state and American History was a required subject everybody had to take it, I placed 16th out of 200 to 300 thousand.

good talk

I just finished Charles Bukowski's "Ham on Rye," his autobiographical novel up to "21," he led a sad life most lives are this. "Barfly" from 1987 with Mickey Rourke was based on Bukowski's drunkenness and brawling. That helicopter that was just shot down killing all those Americans was of course an illustration of this dumb war with some Raghead shooting down the 15 mil helicopter and killing all those guys with his $50 weapon. They have a "Seals Fund" of all things where we can contribute money for those guys' families why would anybody do that as the federal government will supply a huge amount of money and benefits to each of those families. Another huge federal expenditure. Those guys aren't heroes they're suckers you silly twits. A friend of mine was drafted during the Vietnam War and since he drove long-haul they thought he'd be good to be the driver for a 2 Star General. Part of the General's duties were to attend the funerals of soldiers killed in Vietnam and thank their widows for their husband's sacrifice. Cary said that there were a lot of girls who had just gotten 20 thou and a slew, no pun, of benefits who weren't all that upset (life must go on). The General himself said they don't care. This General's main duty was to send soldiers to Vietnam and Cary said that once the General was standing and talking with a full Colonel when all at once the Colonel flung himself down on his knees and said I'm Begging You Not to Send Me to Vietnam. The General said I send 20-year old boys why wouldn't I send you, and walked away. Cary said that the General's girl secretary also saw this. Now had this Colonel been sent to Vietnam he wouldn't have been in any danger just safely in the rear he didn't want his opulent lifestyle Stateside to end. No wonder that thing didn't turn out well. The Korean War started on my 3rd Birthday and we've been at war for about my life all I know is war. The last declared war was WW II hence all these other wars since have been unconstitutional. This one now goes on and on it's already 3 times as long as WW II. War is no glorious thing you people go to war at the drop of a hat you're bloodthirsty. It's the mob mentality I could see a hundred of you chasing some man down the street screaming Kill Him, Kill Him. Barry's going to have a hard time getting reelected what with this bad economy. The roots of this economy are in Bush's reign and Barry has actually done a pretty good job under the circumstance. Certainly he's been a very good example of what a Black Man should aspire to. Many American Black Men laze around on drugs fathering illegitimate children, many of the jobs that Black People get are of their own making, social worker, prison guard. The Heavyweight Championship in Boxing has always been the most prized title in all of Sport and was almost the exclusive domain of American Blacks but for the past decade and this will continue it's been these Eastern Europeans who have dominated with no Black American challenging at all. This is because American Black Men no longer have the will and discipline to attain such lofty goals, it's too bad, Jack Johnson is turning in his grave.

Life Insurance, live poor die rich.

good talk

The only thing my father brought back from WW II was a silver-plated tennis trophy that said "British Officers Club at Oran." Why somebody would want this is beyond me as it even had a dent in it. There hasn't even been a British Officers Club at Oran since that time maybe that was it. I've never been to Algeria strange that my father would be one up on me in that regard. His lifelong friend beginning then was Pat Sullivan who sought out a French schoolteacher to teach him French vowing that he would never live in the U.S. again, after the War Pat was Honeywell's rep in Paris for decades. They were both Mechanical Engineers and Officers in Tank Ordinance, Pat was 5'6" my father was 6'6". Pat never married, the Irish at that time often didn't but would have a brother or sister with 10. A friend of mine, Rick, from the gym told me yesterday that his father had died at "60," Rick's a real nice young fellow, "26." He said his father had had a blue-collar job with the same company for 31 years and that he had lost his job 2 months before he suddenly died (died sitting down). I asked Rick if his Dad had any life insurance and he said he had but that the half-mil policy was through the company and that they had told him and his Mom that the policy went out of effect when his Dad no longer worked there. I said that doesn't sound right, I would think it would continue on for awhile, I told him to check this out with the State Dept. of Insurance and he said he would. People will often try to avoid kicking out a half-mil I'm going to keep on him about this. Rick's all worried that his Mom who's worked for Costco for over 20 years won't have enough for her old age. Rick himself has only been working 20 hours a week or so for the past couple years, tall with a strong lean build he has skills at carpentry and can drive a truck and unload heavy boxes and he quite possibly has good cerebral ability, he's been thinking of joining the Coast Guard for gainful employment sounds like a good idea. Rick and his Dad were real close, pity. It was nice weather in St. Louis and I went to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis built from 1907 to 1987 it's quite impressive. The Gateway Arch was opened in 1967, it's 630 feet high and is the tallest monument in the country. I've been inside it it's quite large inside with all kinds of things and an elevator goes to the top. I went to Forest Park this is the site of the St. Louis World's Fair of 1904, something was invented there, the hot dog? In Forest Park I went to the very good St. Louis Historical Museum and the very good St. Louis Art Museum, the park is very expansive walk and walk. It's been said that our ballparks are America's cathedrals. On April 5, 2011 I went to beautiful Busch Stadium to see the Cardinals beat the Pirates 3-2 behind Albert Pujol's 2 RBI's with a crowd of 33,666, you get $10 off the ticket price with a AAA card, I've had one forever I know guys who are multimillionaires who are too cheap to belong, the AAA is one of the best things going, I used their maps and travel-books throughout my trip. Wells Fargo recently was fined 85 mil they're a dishonest stable.
