good talk

I'm constantly seeing an obese Hispanic woman walking around with 3 little kids, the oldest of whom is "5," stick a fork in it.  Some people are a lot better than others.  I've seen a lot of TV commercials recently, just today, of Kevin Trudeau hawking his book, this despite Kevin having been sentenced to 10 years in prison (?).  Geno Auriemma who has 9 NCAA Women's Titles since he began at U Conn in 1985 and Jim Calhoun who coached U Conn in Men's Basketball for 26 years until 2012 winning 3 NCAA Titles, these 2 started at the same time, I wonder who was the Brain Trust at U Conn who came up with them.  It's much more competitive in Men's Basketball and as one Eastern Coach put it, Jim Calhoun comes in and wins 3 Titles at some place like U Conn.  The sick Old Man stays on with the program with the title of Head Coach Emiritus and even in this, his dotage, he's brought them another Title.  My, my.  A real good movie I've seen twice on Starz is "At Any Price" with Dennis Quaid, it shows the Evil that unbridled ambition wreaks, it also tells you a lot about modern farm life. Luca Brasi's threatening the bandleader's life in order to buy Johnny Fontane's contract in "The Godfather" (your signature or your brains) is a take-off on the Chicago Mob's prying Frank Sinatra's contract from Tommy Dorsey.  I've always thought that Alex Rocco's portrayal of Moe Greene in "The Godfather" was one of the most memorable small-parts in Movie History (I'm..Moe Greene).  Moe being shot through the eye was a take-off on Benjamin Siegel being shot from outside and behind while he was in Beverly Hills on June 20, 1947, just 5 days before I was born, sitting in his girlfriend's den reading the newspaper. Known for his pretty blue eyes, one of Bugsy's was lying on the floor seemingly staring at investigators.
