good talk

Abdullah was a nice guy and I'd like to bump into him yet again, and we hope that Muhammad benefited from the Pilgrimage.  It was Abdullah who said that Hebron is where the Abraham-Isaac thing played-out, no, their tombs are there, the Dome of the Rock is where Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac, it's also where Muhammad ascended into Heaven.  I went to the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) which is the retaining-wall of the 1st Temple, in the past they've had paper yamulkes for the men, but this time, linen, and I kept mine as a souvenir, it's men on the left, women on the right.  I did the City beneath the Wall tour, never had done this, you go down a tunnel maybe 50 feet below and there's the remnants of the original Jerusalem, it's a pretty good tour and popular, you usually have to make reservations.  I walked the Stations of the Cross (Via Dolorosa, the Way of Sorrows) where Jesus walked on his way to his crucifiction, the last 5 of the 14 are inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, there you can touch the rock the Cross was put-into, also there 's the Tomb of Jesus, I've been in there all 5 times I've been to Jerusalem, the 3rd time I felt all that Sin coming out of me, not humble enough the other times, I suppose.  I walked-up to the top of the Mount of Olives, and walked back down to the Gardens of Gethsemane, where Jesus sweated blood and was arrested.

Lafayette, Louisiana has been in the news lately, I spent the night there.  I walked on the campus of LSU at Lafayette, at that time, Southwest Louisiana State, the Ragin' Cajuns, who were quite good at basketball in the early 70's with 1st Team All-American Dwight Lamar, he and 2-time 1st Team All-American Eddie Ratliffe at Long Beach State, were team-mates on very powerful Columbus East teams, hmm, you kinda wonder how these guys wound-up so far away.  Mark---Who was the only Rookie to win the Cy Young, I didn't get it and it's not that hard, I don't think that my male readers like sports, they should try to develop some healthy interests

good talk

Chattanooga has been in the news lately.  My uncle, Clayton Shields, owned a couple hardware stores and other stuff there, Clayton was a go-getter.  Well, Clayton and I weren't really related, he was married to my Grandmother's sister, his wife was my great-aunt, he lived to "87" and she to "93," good.  The interesting thing about Clayton was that he was a beekeeper.  They had a huge backyard and I saw Clayton don the beekeeper's garb and go to the very rear and take the bee's honey, fresh and delicious, we put that and fresh butter on baked-bread right out of the oven, and with cocoa, boy, was that good.  In Chattanooga is The McCallie School where I went for 2 weeks, no, Ed wasn't expelled or ran-away, me and my older brother, Bob, were stashed-there as my parents needed to put us somewhere before we moved (I lived in Darmstadt, Germany, for 3 years from ages 8 to 11, my father was sent there by B.F. Goodrich to help a subsidiary as Germany was rebuilding after being bombed-into-the-Stone Age).  And those were really high-class boys, and they had wonderful activities every night.  A big boy made me cry and felt badly so he sold me a big hunting-knife at a preferred-customer's price (I was fascinated by knives when I was little, every day in 4th and 5th grade I carried a pocketknife to school and at recess would often hone its edge on the brick-building), and when I got home my Mother took it away from me.  Who was a graduate of The McCallie School, Ted Turner.

U.S. Women's Gymnastics and International Women's Gymnastics are sorry they ever heard of McKayla as she's heaped disrepute upon them, that trashy thing

As I move-about in my daily routine, I come-across close to zero suitable females, this is very bad.  Some of the TV women are interested in me, send me an e-mail   edpreusse65@yahoo.com

good talk

Luke Tyson Fury (see my Blog for Aug. 25, 2013) is fighting Vladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf on Oct. 24, 2015.  I was interested in maybe betting Fury, now 24-0, but he's not good enough to handle the faded "39 year old" Vlad, who hasn't lost since 2004.  An Irish Traveller, Fury is currently ranked by "The Ring" 3rd best behind Klitschko, his cousin, Andy Lee, is ranked 3rd best middleweight.  I was talking to some guys from Ireland recently, and I asked them about the Irish Travellers and they said ...They're dangerous... ...They'll fight at the drop of a hat... ...A lot of hotels won't take their weddings, there's been murders...   Kelly Pavlik (see my Blog for March 11, 2013) was arrested in April for drunken-brawling at a "Foo Fighters" concert.  Kelly's good career would have been better without his alcoholism, still only "33," he has stated that since beer is sold everywhere it's not his fault if he buys it.  Kelly retired a very wealthy man, and I think he's retained his money (beer is cheap), but due to his childish attitude and hooligan tendencies, I don't see one of my favorites reaching Old Age, unfortunately, his wife and 2 children might be better off without him.

Parents, you've told me what to do all my life, but now I'm doing what I want, I'm going on a fabulous trip with the man I love...   ...You can't be shirking your responsibilities, besides, you have an IV this afternoon...   ...Folks, I'll see you in 48 days...  A couple days ago I went to the nearby Jack In The Box for breakfast.  At the counter was a girl, about "18," wearing a pretty, print-dress, and she asked the manager for a refill on a drink, the cup was small, clear, and mostly ice, the manager said there was no refill.  This girl was quite cute, she asked me to buy her another of this drink, I said, I'm not paying good-money for something that's worth nothing, I advised her to wait until the ice melted and then she'd have liquid to wash-down the rest of her sandwich.  I got my order and sat-down, several middle-aged men came-in and she would ask each to buy her this drink, the only response she got was from this Black Guy, who shrugged, all the White Guys just stared-at her.  Her persistence was also cute, I went up to get a coffee-refill and asked this Black Lady who was the manager, how much is it, 2.15, what about tax, that's everything.  Ed is kind to girls

Citigroup just agreed to pay 770 mil to settle fraudulent-dealings concerning credit-card holders, they can pay me some of it.  I haven't filed my complaint yet, but soon will.  There's plenty of room on the wall for them

Oh, last week I saw a day of the NBA Summer League.  The format is 4 games going in the Thomas-Mack at about the same time as 4 games going in Cox Pavilion, a short-walk away across the hall.  Acting judiciously, one can see roughly 8 halves of NBA Basketball, that is 16 teams of young players and prospects, I saw Karl-Anthony Towns, the 1st player selected in the recent draft, and D'Angelo Russell (a renowned passer, when I saw him, to the other team) the 2nd taken.  I asked my male readers to come-along. but they being no-nonsense types who think of fun as a waste-of-time, said, no, no.  It cost $28

Great Raiders QB, Ken Stabler, recently passed.  As he was dying, a favorite song, Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama," was playing, probably more apropos than "Freebird."  Now you're being irreverant.  Donald Trump has been chastised for saying that John McCain was not a hero, this was in response to McCain calling Trump Supporters in Arizona,"Crazies."  John McCain was a Navy Pilot shot-down over N. Vietnam, he almost died from his injuries, and was a prisoner of the N. Vietnamese for over 5 years in the Hanoi Hilton, I toured the third of it which had been set-aside as a museum, on the wall it stated ...the American pilots were well treated...  At a SuperBowl Party (see my Blog for Feb. 1, 2009) I met a man and his wife and he said that he had been in the Hanoi Hilton for years with John McCain and that his own-back ...looked like a roadmap...  McCain is truly an American Hero.  It's the the mentality of the TV Media to jump on somebody and pummel them for what's perceived as any transgression, the lowlifes are this way, why they are this.  In 2008, Donald Trump saved Ed McMahon, beloved TV Star, from being thrown-out of his house due to foreclosure, a man that Trump had never met.     irreverent   ...it was he...

At the Taba crossing into Israel I met Abdullah, an English-Pakistani, and his neighbor in Manchester, Muhammad.  Abdullah was making his 2nd Pilgrimage to the Dome of the Rock, in Jerusalem, one of the most sacred places for Moslems, and he brought Muhammad along to try to cure his problem, this guy was sort-of far-gone.  Muhammad was about "50," and apparently his wife and 4 children had left him moving to Birmingham and he hadn't seen them in 15 years.  Now, it would have been hard to imagine Muhammad finding a woman to marry him and then being able to do the physical-act to have had these children.  Abdullah was quite personable, and when we saw each other at the Eilat bus-station the next day, he prevailed on me to travel with them.  I take everybody as they come, I'm friendlier than most, I like to meet people, I said sure.  At Jerusalem, we walked a long-ways to inside the Jaffa Gate, to a place Abdullah had stayed-at, whenever I've been to Jerusalem I've always stayed in an Arab Hotel, both Moslem and Christian, this was the first time I stayed inside the Walled-City.  It was getting to evening, we all stayed-in the same room, and Abdullah wanted to walk to the Rock of the Dome.  So, the 3 of us walked there, but the Jewish Police wouldn't let us get too close.  I've been inside this Mosque before, but due to violent incidents, only Moslems can now enter, but they wouldn't let A and M inside.  Back in our room, Muhammad was acting stranger yet once the lights were out--he was wandering around in the dark, and after an hour of this I told Abdullah, I'm leaving I can't take this anymore. Abdullah said, no, no, stay, and he took Muhammad out to the front-desk where there was a couch and he was allowed to sleep there.  At 4 A.M., A and M made their pilgrimage to the Dome of the Rock, I saw them in the late morning.  Their next stop was Hebron, sacred to Moslems, as this was where Abraham, told by God, was going to sacrifice his son, Isaac.  Abdullah had told me that he had frequent arguments back in Manchester with his son, "30," as he had no further aspirations for his life beyond living at home and being on the Dole.  I said he should take his own there for this.

I'm so glad to be rid of those evil, old Readers, it was so horrible for me.  At the Taba border-crossing into Israel, the Egyptian officials gave me a hard-time, just to be mean.  Never before, had I run into this in Egypt either entering or leaving.  The one guy while looking through my bag purposely dropped my alabaster souvenirs, and when I protested, other Egyptian officials came over and gave me a bad-time.  One guy was going through my high blood-pressure medication, after a while I told him that I was an American Army Veteran and that I got this from the U.S. Government, and they all faded-away, but prior to this they were quite prickly.  And this is my complaint about the treatment of U.S. Citizens at the Taba crossing.  Once I was on the Israeli side, the Israelis, who usually are quite demanding of a tourist entering by himself, were real easy on me, this was unique.  All 5 times I've entered Israel differently.  I took a taxi to Eilat, hmm, 10 miles or so, a Mercedes, 30% of the Israeli taxis are this.  I was going to just go to Jerusalem, but the buses stopped running at 4 P.M. Friday due to the Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath, and wouldn't resume until 3 P.M. Saturday.  An Israeli lady and her son, knowing there'd be stranded passengers, so to speak, offered an apartment for the night, for 45 U.S. a night, not bad.  The son drove me to an ATM and then to the apartment, and it was pretty nice.  I must have an honest-face, it was pretty-loaded, I just left my key inside when I left.  But before then, the next morning about 7 A.M., I took the long-walk to the beach, and it was super-great for swimming, nice, calm, deep salt-water, it felt wonderful, Mmm, Yum, much better than Tel Aviv.  And if you want a spot on the sand for your blanket, at least in June, get there by 9 A.M.

Had McKayla acted right, I would have taken her with me, and from being around me and the enjoyment of the trip, she'd have no maladies.  The first time I was in the Valley of the Kings I rode-in on a donkey, well, I'm a humble-guy.  Me and the donkey were about the same size, and I felt bad about riding him, I thought, maybe we could walk side-by-side, or he could ride-me for a while.  Now you're being silly.  Later I did the taxi-thing.  10 hours wasn't enough time to see everything well.  The next day I went to the Luxor Museum, which was real good, and right-across from there is a ferry-boat that crosses the Nile with a couple-hundred people on it, costs about a nickel (the bridge has only been there for 9 years).  Once on the West Bank, I rented a bicycle for 6 hours, I do this every-time I'm in Luxor, and I ride and ride, lotsa wide-open spaces, whole lotta fun.  The day before, I only had time to give a cursory-look at the Temple of Hatshepsut and the beautiful 6 Tombs of the Nobles, I rode to these and absorbed.  As I rode-along, a lot of people waved, it's real-pleasant.  Egypt is unbeatable, but if you little boys and little girls are afraid of your own shadows, then you have to stay-home and drink milk, mother's milk.  My bus to Cairo didn't leave until 10 that night, and after my fun-day, I returned to the Lotus Hotel as it was getting dark, as I had left my bag there, and once again, I had 2 fine dinners, something else that McKayla would have liked.  I took the bus to Cairo and changed buses and headed to Sharm-el-Sheikh, the Egyptians' resort on the Red Sea, where I had never been. As you're going across the Sinai, it's like moonscape, but very-pleasant viewing, you see families of wild-camels, herds of wild-goats, it's real neat.  In Sharm-el-Sheikh, I stayed at the 4-Star Coral Hills Hotel, 40 U.S. a day, incl. is a killer-buffet-breakfast.  S el S is known for diving, but their swimming is ok, at the beach there were some women in the water wearing black burqas, a real fun-atmosphere for all.  Mothers put a whole lot of effort into having their girls dress and look pretty, before they have to wear a hijab on their hair and austere-clothing at "14."  The pools at the Coral Hills were quite good.  After a couple days I took the bus to Taba to cross into Israel.

Yesterday, at the gym, Mark, a retired Lit Prof. at UNLV, asked in passing, who was the only pitcher to start the 1st game of the World Series for 3 teams?  I said, I think I know, he walked-away as my head was bowed, I thought I knew the answer but I couldn't come-up with the name.  I came-up with the names of the teams he played-for and the players around him, but I couldn't come-up with his name.  I knew that Mark came to the gym about every day, but only for an hour, and I didn't know how long he had been there that day, I was sure that I'd come-up with the name, but if I did after Mark left, then I had failed.  I tried to relax my mind, I was being driven-nuts by trying to think of his name.  After 20 minutes it popped into my mind, I frantically looked-around for Mark, I thought that might be him heading towards the door, I broke into a desperate-run across the gym, I said, Mark, the guy turned-around, it was him ...Jack Morris... ...That's right... Boy, was I relieved, that was so close.  A lot of people know more baseball-trivia than Ed, where I used to live there was an older-lady who was encyclopedic on baseball and basketball, being from Mass., she had been to the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, she said that her goal was to get to Cooperstown before she died (about "75"),  ...Past then might prove difficult... Mark is a real-nice fella, but in retirement he's good at drivin' a guy nuts, what he did to me

McKayla has been on IV's lately, and I think maybe has had the Last Rites.  Should the worst occur, McKayla should be taken to a taxidermist and put into an action-pose, she'll be an inspiration for afflicted-girl-gymnasts for centuries to come

good talk

I took the bus from Cairo to Luxor, arriving around 7 A.M., they just dumped-us-out way on the outskirts and I had to pay 10 U.S. for a long taxi-ride to the train-station where I thought there'd be people who could hook-me-up for a good hotel-room.  Yeah, Ahmed Omad of discoverytours 2000 @yahoo.com got me a real-nice room at the 4-Star Lotus Hotel, my balcony looked right-on the Nile, for 35 U.S., breakfast included, I also ate dinner there, a good dinner for 2 U.S., I'd have 2, yum, yum (I needed calories and sustenance).  I slept some on the bus, and felt fine, I went out to the fab Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, they threw me out of the Karnak as it closed at 6, I had seen it thoroughly (I let things absorb into me).  The next day I proposed to a taxi-driver that he drive me over to the east bank and the Valley of the Kings, driving me around for 10 hours for 40 U.S.  He accepted and everything went hunky-dory.  I've been to Egypt 5 times, but Luxor only 4 times, every time I've gone to Luxor I've hooked-up with a taxi-driver to drive me around in the Val of the Kings all day, lots of them will do this. 99% of the tourists to Luxor are nerdy-types who get led-around in a tour-bus seeing very little, I see everything.  My driver was Yassar Mohammad, and he was beautiful and great, he can be reached at 002-010-615-094-14.  I was in the 11 Tombs that were open in the Valley of the Kings, inc. King Tut's, the smallest.  I was in the Ramesseum Temple, Temple of Merenptah, the Habu Temple, Temple of Seti I, and Temple of Hatshepsut.  The 2nd time I was in the V of the K, I was in the T of Hatshepsut and had gone behind an area that was roped-off indicating no admittance.  Some Egyptian guy saw me doing this and said that if don't give-him some big Baksheesh (literally, a sharing of the wealth), that he'd get the Tourist Police to arrest me and put me in jail.  I told him to have sex with himself, and while he ran over to get the Police, I walked-over to my driver and said, let's leave (I had seen everything not roped-off), and we just drove-on to the next Temple.  Such incidents are rare in my travels.  And this time I  saw 6 of the most beautiful of the Tombs of the Nobles.  I bought beautiful, alabaster things to give to people, at Zalat&Hand Made. Before I left town the next day, I went to Luxor Museum (I think I should have reversed east and west bank, you clever Readers can figure it out)

I'm so glad to be rid of those debauched, old Readers, my virtuous, new Readers, I salute you. The weak-minded are trying to rid us of anything vestige, brave, new world.  In San Diego there's a Robert E. Lee elementary school, which is only 3% White, and all of them get free breakfast and lunch, also during the Summer.  Food is pretty cheap, my father wasn't some bum who couldn't feed his children.  Some guy had a column I read in the paper a few months ago, in which he said, correctly, that in this country there's a few hundred thousand of engineers and technocrats who are zooming the U.S. forward, while everybody else is coming along for the ride.  Well, isn't Ed of great value, the ramifications of what I've done are immense, while the TV Media are a tremendous drag on civilization--what should be done with people like that?       So far as the Confederate Battle Flag (the Stars and Bars), I had a great-great-grandfather who was in the Rebel Army during the Civil War, a Polk from Polk County, Tenn., Grand-dad fought for the South, his brother fought for the North.  Grand-dad was in a prisoner-of-war Camp, none of these were luxurious as the mindset was that minimal-money, a lot of which was grifted, should be spent on these Secesh Trash.  The Rebels were probably misguided as we were getting into modern times and in a large part of the country, Negroes (9 mil) were being sent out to pick this labor-intensive, stupid cotton, the English and French had done away with Slavery long before.  I'm hoping that you think of Grand-dad as having been a good-influence by contributing a sixteenth of Ed's gene-pool

On March 26, 1973, I was sitting on a bed in a Ft. Lauderdale motel-room with a buncha guys watching Bill Walton hit 21 of 22 shots in UCLA's victory over Memphis State in the NCAA Championship Game, I've never hit 21 of 22 shooting-around in the backyard, how could this be done in a pressure-game.  Bill holds the NCAA record for highest field goal percentage in a season, .763 (over 3 of 4) in 1973, and for a career, .686 from 1972 to 1974.  From Helix High outside of San Diego, where Scott also went, when an assistant told John Wooden about Walton, Wooden said that it would be impossible for a player as good as the one he described to be in usually basketball-poor San Diego.

Ed isn't going to put parentheses behind "good talk," I have to take the library current as it comes, don't I.  I saw the Padres beat the Diamondbacks at beautiful Petco, Goldschmidt got no hits, and saw the Mets crush the Dodgers (3 hits) at Dodger Stadium, I've been to a lot of the parks around the country the past few years and DS is easily the worst, whattadump.  And now when you go there you can dine on delicious fare at "Tommy Lasorda's Trattoria"

Sheriff Ralph Lamb (see my Blog for June 21, 2011) passed away on Friday at "88," rest in peace.  McKayla indicated that one of her concerns is that she wants to eat, I saw the picture of her throwing-out the first pitch at a Major League Game a year ago and with her blouse junked-up to reveal her middle, she seemed unsvelte.  She hasn't competed in 2 years and is super-washed-up in gymnastics, I suggest for her next career-move that she become a Jockey, as they can weigh 112

The best thing about Che was that he put thousands of Unworthies against the Wall.  The Public Employees who've cheated the taxpayers of San Diego and Las Vegas by spending the taxmoney on themselves instead of fixing the roads, the TV Media who dupe the American Public, where's a guy when you need him

good talk

The persistent little kid who sold the winning lottery ticket in The Treasure of ... was Robert Blake.  As always when I'm in Egypt I go to Giza, just took local transpo, its right outside of Cairo.  I want to do it differently each time, the last I rode about on my sweet camel, Miken, this time I wanted a beautiful Arabian. Jamil, the most beautiful guy you can imagine, a beautiful face and body, was introduced to me (Jamil is Arabic for beautiful).  But these good-lookin' guys are going to do what they want to do, realizing a weak-rider, Jamil threw himself on his side as he'd rather relax than work.  He threw himself on my right leg, the horse was heavy.  Jamil was soon righted and acting a proper horse, Ali, my guide, who was also mounted, said that with a horse you have to be stern and smack it upside the haid, I can't do it.  Cheops, the largest of the 3 great pyramids is, 4500 years later,  the heaviest man-made object. Chephren, is the 2nd largest, and I had made my way inside both to the Pharoah's burial-chamber, but I had yet to do Mykerinus, the 3rd largest.  After riding and walking around the 3 pyramids, and that's a whole lotta fun, I approached the entrance to Mykerinus, the guy who worked there told me that I couldn't bring a camera inside to Pharoah's burial chamber, I said that I should be allowed to as I wasn't going to take any pictures, he raised his shirt to reveal a pistol, oh.  So I made my way inside and now I've been in the Pharoah's burial-chamber of all 3.  A lot of people have been killed climbing the great pyramids, including a U.S. Marine, it's ancient-weathered stone, and illegal anyway.  At Mykerinus, it was pointed-out a large pool of congealed blood of a German guy, this only 2 hours before.  I went inside the museum of the Khufu Ship, this wonderful-offering had been buried there.  I got close to the  Sphinx, I rode about, dismounting to examine the little pyramids and the workers' houses,  I rode-about and looked at this and that. It was wonderful-day, at the end I wanted to buy, wash, and feed the horseys a couple apples apiece, but there were none to be had
