good talk

Matt Bush (See My Blog for Feb. 20, 2009 and Jan. 2, 2013), after 3 years in prison has done well in Spring Training with the Texas Rangers.  Matt is now "30" and apparently did no baseball while locked-up, but went "98" with his moving-fastball and showed a fab curveball.  To say I'm surprised is putting-it mildly.  Matt will no doubt be in the Minors this Season, but as he has been striking-out Major Leaguers, could be up with the Rangers at the end of the Season, all this since he's been off the sauce since his incarceration.  I'm very happy for him.  Statler Brothers, Class of '57   ...Things get complicated when you get past eighteen...

good talk

I'm suing those Cut-Purses at the AAA and Citibank for 10 thou, apiece.  Half the mail I get is from the AAA, I'm not buying anything from them (See My Blog April 22, 2014).  Recently, the "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau" won a 770 mil dollar judgement against Citibank, relating to Citibank's defrauding of their credit-card-holders, as I've been for the past 7 and a half years.  Why wouldn't I be getting some of this?  I've written the "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau" a regular-letter twice, concerning, but to no avail (See My Blogs for June 21, 2015 and Oct. 8, 2015).  What I've received in reply are 2 form-letters, both unsigned.  This past letter reads    ...Thank you for contacting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  We reviewed your complaint and couldn't send it to the company for response.  This could be because the company is not yet registered to respond to complaints or because we do not currently handle complaints related to this matter...  (??)  Another worthless Federal Agency.  I just heard Bad Company's classic, "Rock n Roll Fantasy," (1979), on my car-radio, hadn't heard that for a long-time (play it loud)

Why would a flight attendant have 70 lbs. of anything?  I bought steaks at Vons that were so tough as to be unchewable (no cavities this millennium), I just threw 'em away (I didn't want to take-off and bring-in that bloody-thing on the wrapper), but I sent an email to Vons, and no reply.  A couple days ago, I broiled-up delicious sirloin and fries from WalMart.  I went to Don Cole's shop this morning and he replaced a worn engine-torque-strut-mount (See My Blog for Aug. 25, 2015), getting the part and knocking-it-out quickly for a modest price.  He had said to come-back in a year, and that's all that had to be done, he won't do anything that doesn't need-it.  That Don's a real good boy.  That Tennis Guy was right, the pro-women only have to play 2 Sets instead of 3, I don't notice it much now, but it used to be that some of the best women-players looked-fat.  The 60th-best Male Tennis Player is better than the best Women's Player.  The women don't deserve equal prize-money with the men.  What's happening now I've predicted for years.  There's already 10 million Moslems in the U.S., many of whom wish for an Islamic Ascendancy.   Sounds to me like this commotion in Brussels is a job for Officer Nicky, who has returned to duty

good talk

I saw Luis Ortiz of Cuba fight at the Hard Rock, a year and a half ago, and now he's the 5th-ranked Heavyweight.  I saw UNLV play UCLA last season, and Myles Jack was returning kickoffs, altho 245 lbs.  His season was cut-short by a meniscus-injury, but he's one of the best-prospects in the upcoming-draft.  Josh Rosen will be good, and the little-boy can really sell a throw for a run, with his all-out fake (as every good salesman knows, you don't sell the steak, you sell the gristle).  I saw San Diego State beat Utah State, and Nevada-Reno beat U. of New Mexico in the Mountain West Tournament, a delightful afternoon, both were close, in the first 8 points were scored in the last 10 seconds.  I saw UNLV badly-beaten by the U. of W. Virginia, of all people, in baseball.  One of UNLV's relief pitchers was Chase Maddux, a freshman, whose Dad is Greg Maddux, and Uncle is Mike Maddux (no slouch himself, pitched in the Majors for 15 years, and is amongst the most-respected of pitching coaches).  Chase is 6'2" but weighs only 140 lbs (what, they gave this boy no food?)   Joshua took the stitches out of my back in the locker-room, that was quite nice (the VA initially said that I should return to San Diego for this (?), but upon request they'll give you a little-packet with curved-scissors and tweezers, cost them like a quarter, Josh asked if he could have the scissors as he has to do this every so often, and these were good for this (chiropractors learn how to do minor operations).  Hey, as you've surmised, that gym's a swinging-place, sure there was that one guy who was chasing the other guy around with a 6-inch blade, but that was 2 years (he wasn't immediately expelled, you'd still see him in there, ha, ha), let me know when you'll be in town, and I'll use my influence to get you a 3-day Pass

good talk

My older brother, Bob, was in Las Vegas in 1964, when he was "21" and in the 101st Airborne, he saw Frank Sinatra, Jr., at the "Four Queens," and lost a hundred.  The Airborne has always been the most-prestigious part of the Army, and at that time, they were paid two-thirds more.  Half of them were Black, as this sounded-good to the Negroes, especially the Southern.  The Airborne consisted of the 82nd and the 101st Airborne Divisions, and the last held maneuvers in the Mojave Desert, every Spring, when they would practice a "Battle Jump."  And they averaged 1 fatality a year doing this, but one year 5 guys died, and that was the last time for this.  I've been to SeaWorld in Aurora, outside of Cleveland, and to SeaWorld in San Diego, a few times, and if they stop the Orca Shows, that'll really gut what they have to offer, as those are a big-reason to go there, and what would a circus be without elephants?  Bernard Hopkins read "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu (no doubt, a compilation of authors), while at Graterford (not a fine Eastern School, but rather prison), and it changed his life in a positive-way.  A whole lot of guys like that book, I couldn't get into-it.   ...Announced the singing of...  Sports Illustrated goes-in for dirty-language these days, but not so much proof-reading.  But perhaps I'm mistaken  ...La De Da... to him

McKayla should see winning the love of the fair Ed in her rear-view mirror

good talk

McKayla has been a broken-down-chick, for years.  Now that her gymnastics-career is over, she should get-past her obsession with Ed, and get-on with her life.  Ed is inadvertently the cause of all her misfortune, her fall in the vault, her physical and mental distresses, and I feel bad about it.  Now, she revealed things about herself, any one of which really turned-me-off, and I don't want her for myself, but I really wish her well, a little beauty, and there's plenty of others who'd want her.  And she has a bit of a name and should be in some demand (her hero, Carly Patterson, won the Olympic Gold Medal for Best Women's Gymnast, and all she ever got out-of-it was to become a lounge-singer, which she probably could have done had she never heard of gymnastics).  But McKayla has to overcome her all-consuming hatred of Ed (a thin-line between love and hate), as venom corrodes the container

My previous Blog was food for thought.   I'm not putting-out for McKayla just so she can be happy, I'm sorry

good talk

I Google everybody I can think of.  I just Googled someone, and we had worked at the same place in San Diego, she as a secretary in her mid 20's, and she died in 2011. She was a very friendly person and was well-liked.  There was a guy she liked who liked her, then he told me that she had said that she had taken the "methadone-treatment," that is, she was a recovering heroin-addict ...And that really turned-me-off... She had some really-good qualities, she had tremendous energy and zeal for work, she'd often work 8 hours and then go home and put in another 6 for no extra pay.  She was kind to animals.  She left after a couple years and I always wondered what became of her.  She was born in Coronado at the Naval Hospital, and her father was a retired naval officer, then he was a teacher in San Diego, and retired from that.  Her mother had inherited, and they were quite wealthy.  Most people who die don't get their Obituaries in the newspaper, if they do it's usually because their relatives want people to know of this because they had lived accomplished-lives and their leaving would be of concern to many.  But she had never done anything after I last saw her, and had no friends. I think that the 2 years that I knew her were probably the highlight of her life.  Her mother was gone, but she had her father. The photo was of her youth, a green-eyed natural-blonde wearing a strand of pearls.  ...Beatrice passed uncomplaining from breast cancer, beloved daughter
