good talk

I've always been very good to McKayla.  A year ago this past August I asked her to be my girlfriend, a couple days later I said I was going to ask her father for her hand, I was half-kidding since she was only "17," but only half.  I've been an honorable guy throughout.  On Monday, Maggie Neville will turn "50."  I hope that the many years past have gone well for her.  I knew Maggie when she was l5, 16,  she'd be a Grandmother now.  I was sitting at the bar in a Dublin Pub and on the big Grandfather Clock ...Tempus Fugit... (from Vergil).   I've been to the wonderful San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido, and one of the things you can do is go in with the Lorikeets, and if you want you can buy a small container of Nectar and feed them, of course I did this.  Many Species of Birds will only take one mate during their lifetime and they're totally devoted to them.  I was giving Nectar to these 2 Lorikeets on my arm, and was looking-around at the other birds, when I heard a lady exclaim ...They're feeding each other... The husband and wife Lorikeets were putting Nectar into each other's mouth, I had all this mush on my right forearm

I was in San Diego for a couple days this past week, I had VA appointments and I also went to the Beach (just to look-out on the Ocean and smell the salt air, those Seals at La Jolla are pregnant, that's the largest Colony of Harbor Seals in the U.S., well, I meant the girl-seals).  In order to use VA San Diego, I have to pay my own expenses, hey, $242 on SouthWest, last year it was $170 for the exact same days and times, and the plane back was half empty.  McDonald is a bad administrator, but to nitpick somebody to death (Tonya Harding ...We all have some bones in our closet...)   I had my routine Derm Exam, and I always have them examine me naked, top to bottom, she even examined the bottoms of my feet, had I Skin Cancer there it'd make Medical History.  I had 2 minor Derm Operations, a Basal Cell on my upper-back and a small lipoma on my lower-back.  I can't work-out for awhile as it would tear-out the Sutures and I'd be left with a Gaping Wound(s) which couldn't be Re-Sutured.  I saw my Primary Care Doctor, whom I've seen for the past 12 years (she is so smart) and my Labs were all Good.  This time my Triglycerides were at an all-time Low of 121.  When she first got ahold of me they were over a Thou.  The kind of doctors you people go to are more in line, no pun, with Scott's Dentist

On Feb. 23, I received 4 and a half times as many Hits of my Blog than any previous day in the 6 and a half years that I've been doing it, soon you'll be naming your children after me, if you aren't already, I'm flattered.  Bush destabilized the entire Middle East and it's going to stay that way, many of you are Ninnies who voted for the Swine twice, you Fools have ruined this Country and this World, and I have to live in it.  NBC (seems like it's always them) in trying to show how Swinish they are, hired, and  have in their employ, Bush's daughter, who they wouldn't have hired and maintained other than she is his daughter.  Jenna seems like she's all right and we're not going to visit the Sins of the Father.  Wanting to placate both Sides of the Aisle, NBC also hired the Clintons' daughter, Chelsea, who they paid 600 thou a year for a real part-time job.  NBC and their boot-licking ways.  3 years ago, I was in the lobby of NBC in Manhattan, when an NBC employee took umbrage at my correcting his friend's bad English Usage (an instructor I had said, isn't it surprising how often Ignorance takes a pride in itself).  The next time I'm in NBC's Headquarters I'll be wearing boots, and I know that this time they'll be happy to see me

good talk

Last Winter was quite warm unlike the previous, and this Winter is warmer yet, it was "79" a couple days ago in L.V., it hit "78" in Jan., lots of days in the 70's, sometimes it seems too warm.  Sunday I walked a half-mile and saw UNLV beat 23rd ranked Nebraska to take 2 out of 3.  D.J. Myers, a big guy who runs like an elephant, pitched a 7 and 2-3rds Innings Shutout, scattering 3 hits, striking out 5 while giving up 1 walk, and fielding well.  Us Crowd gave him a standing "O" as he left, UNLV won 3-0.  I washed and waxed my Avalon, "Pep Boys" is a superstore for car products and they recommended "Surf City" as the best wax (back in Ohio I used Blue Coral and it took all-day just about, once I was doing this while working on a can of Michelob and a bee getting a drink himself, came out of the can enraged that I had bugged him, and stung my upper lip, soon it was swollen sevenfold).  What's with "Hate Crimes," there's Like and Love Crimes?  By definition, all crimes have their root in Hate, some weird stuff going on.  I knew that woman in Las Vegas who was shot and killed due to Road Rage had other circumstances leading to her demise than what the "News" sources were saying.  The family is offering a mint '65 Chevy El Camino as a reward for info leading to an arrest, only in L.V.  A homeowner is 38 times as likely to be involved in a construction-defect lawsuit in Nevada than any other state.  In one case, the homeowners' winnings involving 99 houses were 580 thou, their lawyers were awarded 9.3 mil

I didn't get any Valentines.  All the TV Media are afraid of me, McKayla is afraid of me, they're afraid of their own shadows, good grief.  A favorite of mine is the Drifters "Up On The Roof."  I perused S.I.'s "Swimsuit Edition," for years when it was just these skinny models I didn't bother to look at it.  That's the Real McCoy, I'm not interested in plastic.  Hannah Davis, Hannah Ferguson, I think they'd like me.  Las Vegas' Mountain Ridge Little League Team was declared the winner of the U.S. Title after Chicago's Jackie Robinson West was found to have used players from outside their district, surprisingly, Jesse Jackson said ...This is Racism... MR, which was all-White except for a couple Hispanics, said to a Man that they didn't want the Title as they had lost on the field (7-5) and that it should be declared Vacant.  "Fifty Shades of Grey" was sort of good, different.  "The Gambler" was sort of good, although not nearly as James Caan's.  I can't believe that anyone would like "Birdman."  Pop Singer of the 60's, Lesley Gore, passed, she had all these big Hits in which she sang of her love for "Johnny" and like of boys, she was lesbian.

good talk

Jerry Tarkanian passed away a week ago at "84."  Jerry began his coaching career in 1955 and in 46 years at high school, J.C., and Division 1, he was always the Head Coach never an Assistant.  Known for his 19 years at UNLV, Jerry was 25-5 every year, the expectations became huge and he fulfilled them.  The son of Armenian Immigrants who fled the Turkish Genocide (murdered a million), his mother fled a burning village on horseback after seeing her father's and brother's heads cut off (it would make one want to leave, I guess that's not funny), the sad-eyed Coach always came across as a survivor.  At UNLV he recruited mostly Black Players from a bad background, who due to his interest in their well-being and loyalty to them, played ferociously for him.  None of them got into trouble while at UNLV and many obtained good jobs in the Gaming Industry afterwards.  The NCAA persecuted Jerry and UNLV over the type of players he recruited and Tark battled the NCAA for years, eventually winning his lawsuit.  Jerry was the Rebel Coach with the Rebel Players in the Rebel City, playing an uptempo game, UNLV averaged 107 points a game in the 1976-1977 Season, and this before the Shot Clock and the 3-point Goal, Las Vegas became known for something other than Sin, a fast-paced highly successful College Basketball Team, the Runnin' Rebels.  Jerry was a great Las Vegan and is very missed

good talk

Nobody is that dumb.  If Pete Carroll didn't throw, no pun, the SuperBowl, it sure looked like he did.  Billions were bet on both sides in the SB, the vast bulk of it illegally, my bet was legal.  I'm keeping my betting slip and if there's ever any evidence that Carroll behaved as dishonestly as it looked, I'm going after somebody, even if I have to do it alone.  I see where Seattle is going to cut Marshawn Lynch if he doesn't accept less than his contracted 2015 7 mil salary (?)  The Browns have no one like Lynch.    Formerly of the Cowboys, Gil Brandt ... It's taking a hit on "20" ...

good talk

Last Night on ESPN they showed the James "Buster" Douglas-Mike Tyson Fight in Tokyo on Feb. 11, 1990.  I was at Don King's magnificent production at the L.V. Hilton on May 30, 1987 when Buster Douglas was stopped in the 10th Rd by Tony Tucker (and I'm a baddd ....) as he bid for the IBF HW Championship, this being on the same Card as Pinklon Thomas-Mike Tyson for the WBA and WBC HW Championships (I knew Pinkie was in trouble when he stopped moving in the 6th Rd).  A 42-1 Underdog at the Mirage, Buster had trained thoroughly and didn't seem afraid of Tyson unlike so many others who were defeated before they entered the ring.  Considered to lack his warrior-father's, Bill Douglas', zest for the fight, Buster was a superb boxer using his size and strength, lightning hands, and good foot movement to dominate the fight until being knocked-down in the 8th, barely beating the 10-count and with 3 seconds left, being saved by the bell.  Buster came back in the 9th and knocked Tyson down and out in the 10th, perhaps the biggest upset in Boxing History.  When Mike was in the Amateurs as a 16-year old he had been knocked down 3 times by a 26-year old man and had wanted to quit, some say the tendency never leaves, but against Douglas he tried valiantly to regain his feet.  A couple weeks later I was at a Card at the Hacienda and they introduced Buster to the Crowd, in the center of the ring wearing sunglasses, Buster turned one-by-one to the 4 sides of the Arena, receiving roaring applause as he did

All of the Swinish Commentators on all of the TV National "News" were quick to condemn Brian Williams, they totally thrashed the man. And aren't all of them liars and hypocrites?  Who are they to denounce others?  In an occupation in which correspondents are often killed and maimed, quite possibly Brian thought that his helicopter had been hit and forced to land, he had daydreamed about having this street cred for so long he thought it was true.  Also with Mrs. Clinton.  The one with true street cred is Rick Pitino (On a table?  Why, even we don't do this), and Rick brings this same passion to his coaching.  What NBC's Punishment of Brian Williams reminds me of is of a spoof on their Saturday Night Live, a TV Commercial for a Funeral Home whose guarantee is  ...There is no sex with the Dead...  They show an Employee about ready to hop on a young dead woman and suddenly 2 other employees leap-in and hustle this guy away, while this is going on some guy says ...If an Employee is caught having sex with the dead he's suspended for 6 months... The Commercial ends with ...And remember, no sex with the dead...  This is how childish NBC's Punishment of poor Brian Williams, whose flawed recount of an incident from long ago, his only transgression in an Illustrious Career, is, they deemed they must deal harshly with the man instead of overlooking it.  NBC's Personnel's bodies grew while their brains stayed the same.  People Who Live in Glass Houses Shouldn't Throw Stones

good talk

Scott has only been a little into Canada and Mexico, and is always asking about my travels, he said that he wants me to take him to the British Isles.  He'll be "44" in March.  Mike's in Thailand now, I knew he had never been to Myanmar, Burma, which has fab things to see, and said you should go, he said I'll go if I can get so and so to come along.  These are Men, not little girls, if you want to go someplace, just go, nothing to it, good grief.  Scott's parents now live at his house in L.V. after retiring from San Diego, they weren't beach-goers and say L.V.'s air is better.  Scott asked me over to watch the SuperBowl, his Mom, Patty, made a real good ham dinner, mashed potatoes, carrots, you know (I'm sure it's wrong to kill and eat animals, but they taste mighty good).  I brought a bottle of wine which I got at a Lee's Discount Liquor, Koreans who came to this Country almost penniless 30 years ago, their store on Sunset is the largest liquor store west of the Miss., the Old Man says he'll never retire as he enjoys doing it so much.  Hard Work goes a long way.  Gil Lempert-Schwarz is a young wine expert who writes a great column weekly for the L.V.R-J.  In it he touts an inexpensive wine that he considers to be a great value.  This past week it was Veramonte Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013, from Chile, it cost 8 and change incl. tax.  Gil wrote ...Is a very deep blackish red color with an opaque ruby red center going out into a blood-red rim definition... It immediately coats the palate with powerful black fruit characteristics, followed by tons of cherry and cassis juices, and then ripe firm tannin structure... An excellent midpalate, with loads of fruit and crushed loganberry and finishes powerfully with chunks of cherry liqueur and creme de cassis... I'm not a wine-drinker but Gil's critique is always so impressive that I've always wanted to buy a bottle that he recommended.

good talk

I had 5 thou on Seattle.  I only slept 3 hours, but do this win or lose as I'm worked-up.  I woke up full of energy and mopped the balcony in front of my 1-bedroom apt (nice place, big, large picture window over the pool with Swenson and Flamingo in the distance, a great view) at 3 A.M.  I went into the gym and all guys were talking about was the game.  A young, Black, guy was livid ...I should be cashing a ticket! ... The Nevada Sportsbooks were furious as they would have won huge on Seattle, in the L.V. Review-Journal "Jimmy Vaccaro, echoing the thoughts of the majority ...It was a horrendous play call..."  Guys were walking around me with their heads bowed talking in hushed tones, as though they had heard that I was going to die next week.  A Black guy who works there came up to me ...That was terrible...  All this was really kind of them, but they can save their pity for someone who wants it, if you can't take a Bad Beat you shouldn't gamble.  By late morning I was feeling fine (I go into the gym for a 5-hour work-out twice a week, and I stretch at home for 3 hours once a week, that is, I work-out 3 days a week).  I felt sorry for Marshawn Lynch as he had owned the Patriots all day, there's nobody in the Country who didn't think that with 3 attempts, Lynch wouldn't have gone-in and won the SuperBowl, and he wouldn't have needed the 2nd and 3rd.  And the put-down Seattle Receivers who were regarded as being really inferior, who played like Heroes on the Biggest Stage, not just the one catch, of which I had never seen the like, but several catches.  Brady said that after Kearse's catch he thought the Patriots had lost.

good talk

I saw Kathy Lee Gifford on the Today Show recently.  She's a real nice lady and I really admired the way that she and Regis used to banter Small Talk back and forth, I sat in amazement thinking, that's a real talent I sure couldn't do that.  Sometimes I have a bad effect on women, unwantingly bringing them distress (damsels in distress).  I don't mean to.  I've wondered, how am I wired differently than others that I can do telepathy?  I'd like to know.  McKayla is slightly telepathic, about the same as my older brother, Bob, that is, not much, a little.  She and I played nicely together for 10 months, I was surprised the way it turned-out.  I saw Tara Lipinsky on TV last week, pretty, good hair, bright-red lipstick on full lips, mmm.  Perhaps Tara's heart has softened to me.  I should be able to come up with somebody.  Some of the NBC women seemed to enjoy my losing that bet, what kind of women are these?  Very few are telepathic at all, hardly anybody.

good talk

John Kennedy defeated Richard Nixon for the Presidency in 1960 due to widespread voter-fraud in Mayor Daley's Chicago and Lyndon Johnson's Texas, had the election been honest, Nixon would have won.  Within his own Party, Dickie was regarded as the winner, he wisely held his tongue and prevailed in 1968 in a more honest election.  1960 was a Bad Beat for him (perhaps my saying this will bring this seldom-used phrase into the common lexicon).  You Swine look to me for guidance, I'd like to get some money out of it.  The life of a Telepathist is very rough, you shouldn't be feared and held back if you possess SuperHuman Powers but that's how it is when you're amongst lowlifes.  I loved Jeopardy but haven't been watching it for many years as I might affect the outcome.  The one I'm really proud of was, the Youngest Vice-President was who?  I thought, Nixon wasn't that old in 1960 and so was sort of young in 1952, it was an educated-guess but I was pretty confident.  All 3 of the Contestants missed it, and I was happy (oh, he was "39").

No one is satisfied with Carroll's chipper ...I take the entire blame..., he's either in thrall to giant sportsbettors or is in the early stage of Alzheimer's
