good talk
Father Edward C. Anderson passed away recently in Las Vegas at "94". For the past 30 years I've had Masses said for my paternal Grandmother and my younger brother, Tom, every couple years, as well as others, 4 Masses for each, and Father Anderson said quite a few of them as a retired-priest. The retired-priest says Mass in his quarters every morning, as a matter of course, and he receives the $10 offering per Mass, that is, last Summer it was 5 Souls, so $200. I once asked Clairemarie Slavic, the very kind office-manager at Guardian Angel Cathedral, if say, I could donate a thou to the retired-priests, and she assured-me that they were already awash in money (the Catholic Church turning-down money?), and that it would be unnecessary. Father Anderson was the adopted-son and only child of his father, of the same name, and mother, Catherine, and made his final-vows to be a priest in the Order of St. Viator, in 1948. Father Anderson was an educator, a high school Principal, for St. Viator, throughout the country, and was a former-principal at Bishop Gorman High School here in Las Vegas (Texas has always thought that their high school Football is so great, Gorman just went-down there and plowed their best team). The Good Father rests in peace
