I was sorry to hear about Billy Mays although I won't miss his commercials. Norman Brinker himself died earlier this month, the creator of the Salad Bar (you're grateful, admit it), he became ultrarich from "Bennigan's" and "Chili's." Everybody's been dying. "Operation Wetback," those were the Good Old Days. Have you read Vin's Column? I used to go see the "Classic Car Collection" at the Imperial Palace every year but haven't for the past 10 for some odd reason. Just scrounge inside for a Free Pass, I never paid. 250 cars worth 100 million dollars and all are for sale. Many are the cars of famous people like Hitler (solid rubber tires so they couldn't be shot out, oh those Clever Krauts), Leo Carillo, Pancho on the "Cisco Kid," a real likeable character and many others. Even you women would like this, I gotta go back. The last time I was there they had 17 Duesenbergs, some of the most high-performance, beautiful and elegant Cars ever built and a couple were for sale for 2 million dollars. Many of the Movie Stars of the 20's and 30's had one such as Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Howard Hughes had one. It gave rise to if something was really great "It's a Doozie."

Michael Jackson was very talented and a perfectionist, such people are usually flawed. When I was in Trinidad and Tobago I heard the Reggae version of "Human Nature" by Tarrus Riley which I like better than the original. I only see Kelly's hand in her personal dilemma, I don't feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for myself for being forced to associate with people who go around with their noses up in the air because they can talk and the Neanderthals probably couldn't. 2 weeks ago Joshua Clottey from Ghana fought Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico in Madison Square Garden on the eve of the annual Puerto Rican Parade. I had money on Clottey as I thought he would win a decision by a good margin and I was very happy with my bet until the Judge's Scorecards were read and Cotto was given a split-decision. About everybody who saw the fight thought that Clottey had won, I thought 7 Rounds to 5 and that wasn't counting Cotto throwing Clottey down and Cotto hitting Clottey in the back of the head, both Major Fouls. This was a "Bad Beat" for myself and I'm none to happy about it. Both Clottey and I were Licked-Off, it was an egregious Lick-Off. The Judges probably scored it before the Fight. Boxing has gotten so Corrupt that one is Loath to have anything to do with it. Bob Arum thinks that the Public wants to see Cotto fight Manny Pacquao but I don't see why as most people think that Cotto has lost 2 of his last 3 Fights. Bob was good in his day and I liked him but might be getting too old to cut the Mustard.

Today is my 62nd Birthday, I'm still surviving, hah. I like the President, I always did, nice clean-cut looking guy, I only questioned his qualifications. For the American People to elect Bush President twice they'd have to be a Quart-Low, they're dragging me down with them. ABC is Soldiering on with their image of Kelly Ripa, I have nothing against Kelly and I wish her well, I just think that the American People shouldn't be Deceived. In one of her current pictures Kelly appears Bedraggled and I'm sorry about that, we've all seen a lot worse than Kelly Ripa. San Diego has the worse roads in the Country, for about the past 17 years it's been this way. San Diego is a Wealthy City but all of its Money has been spent on Undeserving City Employees' Salaries and Pensions. You too can have your Axle bent and your Fine Car shaken to pieces. The World is overpopulated, probably should only be 4 billion at the most, I can't take any more of seeing all these poverty-stricken people as I travel about, I'm Saturated. I don't like to talk about myself but I'm one of the most Talented People in the World and I'd like to make some Money off my Ability. You Media People think you're so great, about anybody can talk, you have no talent. It's thought that the Neanderthals probably couldn't talk, maybe these are who you think you're Superior to. I'm forced to associate with you People, had I my Druthers, I wouldn't. Vin Suprynowicz writes a very good Column for the "Las Vegas Review-Journal" and on July 14, 2009 he wrote on Immigration. Last week I had skin cancer surgery on 5 places on my face and neck, use sunblock. Two days ago marked the 40th Anniversary of the death of Maureen Connolly. Born here in San Diego in 1934 to a family of modest means, Maureen began playing tennis on Municipal Courts and progressed so fast that she won the U.S. Open in 1951 at the age of "16." Before she was "20" Maureen had won 9 Grand Slam Events including those 9 in a row, she won 1 Australian, 2 French, 3 Wimbledon's, and 3 U.S. Open's. She once said that the tennis court was "...a jungle...a dark destiny...and I a lonely fear-stricken hunter..." A Cute Mick-Looking Girl, on July 20, 1954 Maureen was indulging in her life-long love of horses, she was riding when her right leg was crushed by a truck thus ending her Tennis Career. Maureen got on with her life and married Norman Brinker, a member of the U.S. Equestrian Team in 1952, and they had 2 daughters. Unfortunately her happy marriage and life were cut short when Maureen developed stomach cancer. "Little Mo," an American heroine, died on June 21, 1969 at the age of "34."

I told the 2 Swedish Girl Journalists about the Entire American Media Covering Up the Fact that TV Star Kelly Ripa was Gay and that this They had done for the Past 2 Years. These Swedish Journalists Said that That Was Impossible, That the Entire American Media Couldn't Possibly Be Bought Off. One of Them was So Worked Up that She could Hardly Talk, She Could Hardly Get the Words Out. Well, you Thousands of American Media People Reading This Blog Know That Unfortunately This is True. I asked These Girls if I Could Mention Their Names in My Blog and They Said No. I Said, The Evil and Powerful American Media Will Be Angry That You Sided With Me and Will Make Sure That You Lose Your Jobs and That You Never Work Again. I Said---You'll Starve To Death on the Streets of Stockhom as Martyrs to the Truth, That is So Romantic . What Girl Wouldn't Be Won by Such Pleasing Talk? The Young People on This Cruise Came from All Over, Stockholm, Israel, Australia, All Over the Map. Everybody Used Sunblock even the Israelis who were Dark Did This and I Was Glad of This From My Own Experiences. The Israelis didn't Talk to Anybody Else but They weren't Aloof, I thought they were allright, They Sort of Seemed Like the Same Person Except One was a Man and the Other a Woman. I Thought that Ben and Christina were Jewish and the Israelis had no Truck With Them. Ben taught Physics at a Medical School and Christina Worked in the Administration at Columbia U. and They had just Come From 2 weeks of Planting Seeds in Peru (There were All These Cutsie Goodie-Goods on the Cruise). Hopefully You Haven't Gotten All Excited About Going to the Galapagos Yourselves. You'll Just Clutter Up the Place and Drive Up Prices with More Dollars Chasing the Services. Besides It's Too Much for You. If you Must Go Somewhere You Can Go to Lake Erie or Someplace, Deal?

I was just Watching Jessica Andrews when She was "16" in "Unbreakable Heart," god was She Fine. ABC Continues to Play the Only Cards They LHave, ha, ha. Of the 16 Passengers 3 were Older French People who Left Halfway Through When Their 7 Days Were Up with Others Replacing Them, after that I was the Oldest at "62" on June 25 and Peter the 2nd Oldest at "37." The Passengers were Fine, Upscale Young People, 2 of Them were Good-Looking Swedish Girl Journalists who Were "27" and One of Them Had the Biggest Crush on Me, She Had It Bad. She Was a Fine Girl All the Way Around and I Wouldn't Mind Running into Her Yet Again. Included in the $800 were All Meals and They Were Pretty Good and Lots of Snacks. Everybody It Seemed Drank at Night and it was $2 for a Beer, all I had on the Entire Cruise was 2 Beers the First Night. We Trekked on the Various Islands and We Snorkeled and my Buoyancy has Really Gone Down Although My Land Movement is All Right. Most of You are Better in the Water Than Me. We Were Over Half the Galapagos Preserve which is 28,000 Sq. Miles, We were on Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Floreana, Espanola, and Santiago and Points In Between. It Was Really Quite the Experience I Daresay and I'm Looking Forward to Returning to the Galapagos and Doing Different Things Than Before. I had Penguins Swimming a Few Feet Past Me, I Had Friendly Sharks Around Me, I Saw Blue-Footed Boobies, Red-Throated Frigate Birds, Countless Sea Lions (don't get too Close, they Might Bite). It was After his 5-Year Voyage on the "Beagle" that Charles Darwin Wrote "The Origin of the Species" in 1859 and a Lot of That Was Learned from his Observations in the Galapagos, that Species Adapt and Evolve. Many People in this Country Don't Believe, they Believe That the World Began 6000 Years Ago, I Know People Like This. I Was Happy to See the Cruise End, After 7 Days of Sand in All My Clothes I Had Had Enough But I'm Looking Forward to Returning.

I landed at the Baltra Airport on Baltra Island on April 1 and it was there that I noticed a guy standing with a sign and I told him that I wanted to do a 1-Week Cruise, he motioned to some guy behind him, spoke a few words, and this other guy offered me this for $800. At the same time Freddie offered a Couple from Vancouver, Peter and Tracy, this for a total of $1500. I thought that I was going to Brazil and hadn't done any Research on the Galapagos and Peter struck me as a Bright With-It Guy so I told Peter if you go for it so will I. Peter saw the Boat, a 16-Passenger Boat with a 5-Man Crew including the Guide, and looked at the Itinerary and said OK so I said OK. Freddie took us to a Bank where I cashed $800 in Travelers Checks and Peter also dug up Money (In Ecuador they use the American Dollar as Their Currency) and we paid for our Cruise which began Immediately. We Took the Ferry from Baltra Island to Santa Cruz, this is Where Puerto Ayora is and from there we Went to a Preserve where they have Giant Tortoises, they're Huge. One was Lumbering Towards Us and I said He'll Be Here in 15 Minutes. The Animals in the Galapagos Preserve have no fear of Man as It's Illegal to Harm Them, I have a picture of Myself right next to a Giant Tortoise, There's only 200 in the Islands. It cost a Hundred Dollars just to Enter the Preserve, pay at the Airport, for the $800 (which they call 8 days, it's more like Six and Three-Quarters) you Share a Cabin with Somebody, in my Case it was Tomin, a "32" year-old Plumber from Denmark who had Saved his Money often Working Overtime for Cash and now was Making a Year-Long Trip in South America. If you meet People doing a Long Trip of 3 Months or More It's Almost Always Non-Americans, Americans Seldom do this, I Get Tired of Traveling Myself After About 47 Days. Tomin was a Neat Guy, he had gone into the Jungles of Brazil for 2 Months and Said that Every Bit of his Body was Covered with Mosquito Bites and that he hadn't even taken a Anti-Malarial. Tomin was a Viking and a Hardboy and Could Get Away With This, I Wouldn't Try It. I Mentioned that I paid $20 US for 20 Mefliquine in Georgetown, I Recently Asked at a "Target" Pharmacy how much they charged for the Same Thing and Was Told $164. You got to Figure that the Georgetown Pharmacy Makes a Profit So.......

Paramaribo's Airport is the same as Georgetown's, primitive, and from there I flew to Curacao which is one of the 5 Dutch Islands of the Lesser Antilles, near Venezuela, the remaining one is French. Curacao is all right and I enjoyed looking around and went Swimming. After a couple days I flew a little ways to the West to Bonaire because from there I could buy a ticket and fly to Guayaquil, Ecuador so that I could get to the Galapagos (When I Travel I Sort of Cast my Fate to the Wind). To fly to Bonaire from Curacao cost about $50. Bonaire only has about 14,000 People which is a tenth of Curacao's Population while being two-thirds as large, it has about the Best Diving in the World and is Truly an Island Paradise, I enjoyed it Good. Very Nice Layed-Back Place, nice little Town to Wander around in and I Went Swimming. I bought a ticket to Guayaquil for about $360 and flew there after a couple days, Bonaire was not too Expensive. I Arrived at Guayaquil's very nice Airport and Asked at their 2 Travel Agencies there and at Information about getting on a Cruise in the Galapagos Islands. It was determined that I'd actually have to just go there and see if I could get on a One-Week Cruise, that it couldn't be Arranged in Guayaquil on Short Notice. From my Travel Book it sounded like I might or might not get on a Cruise Quickly if I just Showed Up There. But I like to Gamble so I bought a Round-Trip to Puerto Ayora for $360 and flew out 2 Hours Later and Got Hooked-Up at the Airport in the Galapagos for a 7-Day Cruise that began Immediately and for the Bargain Price of $800.

I decided to return to Paramaribo, Suriname to try to get a Brazilian Visa at their Embassy. French Guiana is only 183,000 and due to the lack of population in the Guianas, that is Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana there is very limited Infrastructure, it's hard to go anywhere. Kourou has the French Space Center and two-thirds of the Commercial Satellite bin the World since 1980 are from there. Kourou is close to the Equator where the Earth spins much faster than elsewhere, that is you get the Slingshot Effect, Extra Propulsion for Launches, this is the Best Locati"on for This in the World. I went Overland back to St. Laurent and Crossed the Maroni River into Suriname, my Visa is good for 5 Years and Multiple Entry. These Black Guys in Albina wanted to talk to Me about Obama and I told them that Obama was "Cafe au Lait" which brought a General Laugh. Overland to Paramaribo and I was dropped off at the Brazilian Embassy where they told me that I'd have to wait 5 days for a Visa, I said I wouldn't. A Chap there offered to drop me off at a good Travel Agency and there another nice India Fellow, the Manager, sold me a ticket to Caracao for only $190. Caracao is a Dutch Island next to Aruba, where I was at long ago. He said that from here I could make my way to where I had said I wanted to go, the Galapagos Islands off of Ecuador. Strangely I had never heard of Curacao (correct spelling). Recently my friend, Scott, the Oddsmaker took me and another guy to the Hilton for Dinner using Comps. This was quite nice and we had a good time. I mentioned Scott around Valentine's Day. He's "38" and owns a nice house and car, never been Married, he looks Pretty Good. He's had his Picture and Quotes in "Sports Illustrated," although not recently. I noticed that his Interest in Girls was sort of Dormant, he's not, you know. Last year I brought him a Danica Patrick Calender to revive his Interest, he didn't want it. So I asked another guy, Brad, and he said "Surrrre." Brad teaches High School English and apparently doesn't mind that Danica is a 10th Grade Drop-Out, that she disdains the Educational Process, surrrre sounds that way. Scott is a Kind Person and I think with his Youth and Qualities that Some of You Girls might like him. Maybe you could revive his Interest by Dancing Around Him or Something.

Kourou is about 40 miles from the Capitol, Cayenne, and I went there by Public Transportation, from there I wanted to see the famous island French Penal Colonies. I couldn't find a hotel room for under $120, this Asian Family where the husband worked at the French Space Center in Kourou drove me about 6 or 7 miles trying to find a less expensive room, of all things. Then I asked people at the Wharf and this guy of India descent originally from Guyana named Shohan said that I should stay at his brother's place for free. I was reluctant but I sized Shohan up as a good-hearted chap who was sincere in trying to help me so I agreed. I stayed at his brother, Mohan's, place for 2 nights for free (bought us some beer). I try to come across as a Self-Assured Man of Confidence---I go to this Place and I'm Treated like some Poor Little Girl, What's the Deal? So the next morning I go to the Wharf and pay about $50 to go out on a Catamaran until about 5:30 P.M. on an all-day trip to the French Penal Colony Islands. It took an hour through very hard currents to get to the largest, Ile Royale. If you fell off the Catamaran that would be it for you due to the strong currents--you'd go under quickly. I paled around with a rich, young Dutch Guy named Yost all day. Yost was "33" and had made a lot of money but had developed an ulcer and was traveling for 2 years. Guy looked good, though, he said he didn't exercise and I told him that if he went to the gym twice a week that would probably cure his ulcer, I know a guy who did this. I saw so many old prison cells this day. There were Penal Colonies throughout French Guiana from 1852-1953, the Worst of the Worst they put on these Islands. From Royale we went to Ile St. Joseph which was quite close and we got very near to the Ile du Diable, Devil's Island, and were quite close to the stone building that housed Captain Alfred Dreyfuss, Devil's Island is quite small and is uninhabited and nobody today lands on it due to the Currents. Very Exciting to see Something that you've Always Heard About, eh? Ile St. Joseph was also quite interesting, I walked around both Royale and St. Joseph and swam off the Wharf at St. Joseph, no Current there. "Papillon" of course made these Islands even more famous. Written by Henry Charierre and largely Fiction, Charierre made no Escape Attempts and was Well-Behaved, a lot of his book is based on stories about Others even from 20 Years Before. But there quite possibly is a true Papillon in a Parisian about a hundred years old if he's still alive, Charles Brunier, who has an old Butterfly Tatoo on his Left Forearm and of Whom there were 3 Documented Escape Attempts. This was a truly Memorable Day and I'll Never Forget My Day touring the Iles du Salut and I'll always Remember the Kindness of Shohan and Mohan. Nobody's Here for a Long Time so Gotta Have a Good Time.

In 1667 New Amsterdam, present day New York City, was traded by the Dutch to the English for Suriname, yes it's true. From Paramaribo I went overland to Albina to cross the River into French Guiana. Albina was almost leveled in the Maroon Uprising of the 1980's but has made a comeback and I ate a nice lunch there. Many of the Africans didn't Cotton to Slavery and many ran away, in the Caribbean and South America they were often called Maroons. That term today refers to their descendents. In the 1800's the Dutch made several treaties with the Maroons, usually on the Maroons' Terms to avoid them Raiding the Plantations and Such. I crossed the River into French Guiana and waited 4 Hours for a Van to fill up for the two and a half hour Drive to Cayenne. I arrived in Cayenne on a Saturday Night and the Place was Alive with Streetwalkers and other Festivities. French Guiana is just a part of France and has the Euro, in Guyana they use the Guyanes Dollar and in Suriname they use the Surinamese Dollar. Guyana was my 101st Country in my Life and Suriname was my 102nd. Ya get into a Rut, at least I have, I Remember 30 Years ago back in Ohio Remarking to Somebody that I don't like to Travel. Cayenne, the Capitol, was pretty well Shut Down the next day, Sunday, but I enjoyed Walking Around, I walked a few Miles. Monday I saw their very good Museum and was in their Cathedral, I wanted to go to Brazil but their Consulate only would give a Visa to Residents of French Guiana. Then on to Kourou about 40 Miles Away. I was Reading the Current "Sports Illustrated" about the Perfect 12 Innings that Harvey Haddix pitched for the Pirates against the Braves in 1959 only to lose in the 13th, there's a picture of him on Page 64 and that is Some Form. Unfortunately I read Today about Kenneth Kahn, "66," a very Prominent Lawyer falling to his Death from the Mountain at the Machu Picchu. He defended Andrew Dalton Lee whose story was in "The Falcon and Snowman," a very good movie from 1985 with Sean Penn whose Acting Ability is so good that when he played the Hopped-Up Jewish Lawyer in "Carlito's Way" I didn't know that was Sean Penn until Years Later (You Guys knew it, You're Sharper Than Me) and he also defended Larry Flynt. I Climbed the Same Mountain 2 Years ago and I think I Commented in my Blog that a Misstep could lead to being Killed or Maimed. He was too Old to be doing this.
