good talk

Armin Hary also anchored the winning German 4x100 metres team at the 1960 Rome Olympics, after the apparently-winning U.S.A. team was disqualified for running out of its lane, when the first 3 guys get close to the next runner, you yell "Stick" and hand-it-off, all the while staying in your assigned-lane, nothing is easier.  Also, the apparently-winning 1988 Olympic 4x100 metres U.S.A. team, wearing those silly-hoods, was disqualified for running out of its lane.  During his Track Career, it was well-known that Armin took payments from Adidas and Puma, under-the-table, as they were forbidden under the IOC rules of that time.  Armin as a child during and after WW 11 had known real-hunger for long periods, and wasn't going to be a big doctor like Dave Sime (he devised a lens for Bob Griese, who was blind in one eye, and made other medical-improvements), and nobody wanted to see Armin go-back to a state of near-poverty.  But in 1980, Armin was sentenced to a year and half in prison for defrauding the Catholic Church in a real-estate deal, but the Germans decided to heck with it, and just fined-him.  There was no sin that Armin could commit that wouldn't be forgiven by his Countrymen, and today both Armin and Dave are enjoying their Golden Years basking in their Nation's admiration
